This report, issued by the Research Department of Teaser Platform, analyzes the awarded public tenders in the Kingdom of Bahrain during 2022, offering insights into tender activity, sector allocation, top awarding organizations, and leading vendors by contract value.
The findings show that disclosed public tender spending declined sharply to USD 3.58 billion, representing a 41.03% year-on-year decrease, alongside a 21.75% drop in tender count to 1,608 awards.
While the Oil and Gas sector maintained the largest market share, it recorded a significant contraction, whereas the Aviation sector was the only segment to post growth, increasing by 30.07% and accounting for nearly a quarter of total spending.
Gulf Air, Tatweer Petroleum, and the Ministry of Works emerged as the top awarding organizations, collectively representing more than half of total tender value, highlighting the concentration of public spending among a limited number of entities amid a softer tendering environment in 2022.
